What Should Your Tattoo be
Jul 17th, 2010 by admin
I think it is pretty safe to say that the hardest decision that needs to made when one decides to get a tattoo is what to actually get a tattoo of. There is literally an endless amount of designs that you could choose from. The most important thing I feel is that you need to make sure whatever you decide will fit you the rest of your life. This is the time you sit down and rack your brain fors omething, which is literally easier said than done.
So I thought I would give a little insight on a few ideas people can think about when racking their brain of what to get a tattoo of. First of all I think you should think of something that you are okay living with the rest of your life. Also if you have made a big accomplishment in your life get a tattoo of that milestone. For example, it has became a tradition with Olympic athletes to get the Olympic rings tattooed on them before the leave the games to remind them of their accomplishment. So if you have accomplished something similar to that get a tattoo of that. Also this is more for the women, get a tattoo of your Zodiac sign. Once a Leo, Libra, Aries or whatever you are you will always be one, so that’s a pretty safe tattoo. Also getting a portrait done of a loved one is also a safe bet or even a pet. Lastly, be sure that you don’t go overboard and get a humongous tattoo of whatever you decide. Start out small and if everything works out and you think you can live with it and want to get another one than go bigger next time. But the first should be something a little more modest just to make sure you won’t regret it.

Youd think a Miss America swimsuit winner would feel completely confident about her body, right? Not always! So I decided to write the book I wish Id had as a teen and in college an honest, funny, practical, medically accurate, totally reassuring guide to how womens bodies actually look, smell, feel, behave, and change. Alongside real-deal photographs of women just like you and me (no airbrushing, no supermodels, no kidding) youll find medical pictures of things you need to be able to recognize, true confessions by yours truly, and the encouragement you need to appreciate the uniqueness, strength, and beauty of your body.

you can start with anything you want – its your tattoo
i am looking into getting my first tattoo done and my advice from everyone has been to get something smallish done first so you can feel how painfull it is and also get it done in a place with lots of flesh so it hurts less (arms, back etc..)
gutted for me cos i want a flower on my foot LOL is gonna hurt like hell!
small design ideas are fairies, butterflys, stars, a really small basic flower, words/symbols or any cartoonish design because they have less detail so look good small
good luck, bet your gonna choose something dead cool!

The best thing to do is research tattoo parlors in your area. Meet with a couple of artists and see which one best suits you and your personality. THis is artwork that will be on your body forever- don’t let some guy who gives you the creeps do it for you. Go somewhere where you are comfortable with the people and the atmosphere. A true tattoo artist is exactly that, an artist. You and he(she) should be able to come up with something that is perfect for you.
THe best idea is to start off with something small that you could possibly build around in the future. In case it is too painful for you, or you decide you don’t want it at a later date. I have a small butterfly that I drew above my belly button and a large one on my lower back. Go with art that feels good to you. don’t pick something off the wall.

I don’t have any tattoos, nor do I want one, but I think if that’s your thing it should be something personal, not something people on Yahoo Answers decide for you. Don’t get something generic like a butterfly or a fairy and don’t get a tramp stamp on your lower back!! Those are my guidelines for you anyway…

Maybe you should have "I’m and idiot" tattooed across your forehead.
Tattoos don’t make you look cool and you run the risk of infection and disease. Not to mention it will hurt your professional chances if they are in a conspicuous location.
You should really consider the consequences of this action

Good luck with your ink! I’ll also be getting my first tat soon! Mine will be Led Zeppelins Swan Song logo on my tailbone.

Why would you want to know what a first tattoo should be? If you are going to get a tattoo you should get it of someting that you want on your body, not something that everyone has…

Hi, seriously speaking i dont think you are ready to get a tattoo because you dont have to ask everyone about what tattoo they are having. It wld be better to share with us your first tattoo than asking what others are having, right? Then it will be really common to sEE all the same tattoo everywhere. You should get smth that you like and is unqiue only for yourself not for the others. Sorry, i hope it wld not offence you. All the best! =)

Honestly I feel as though you shouldn’t get a tattoo unless you know what you want. Don’t get it because you want a design on your body, get it because it shows a little bit about who you are as a person. Regardless of whether you like it or not, everyone is going to look at the tattoo you have and make a judgement about you because of it, especially in the job world. Why would you let someone else design what you and only you will live with for the rest of your life?
