When it comes to decorating the home, oriental designs have become extremely popular over the past few years. Japanese decorating has taken the world by storm and now everything seems to be about peace and simplicity as well as natural and beautiful designs. So just what are oriental designs and just how can you use them within your home?

Using Oriental Designs to Decorate the Home

Oriental designs can include a number of things from paintings to rugs and gardens to tattoos. They have basically taken over everything and it is certainly no surprise!

Generally oriental designs are a lot more artistic than any other design and they are created with plenty of color and life. They make any house seem more like a home and they truly are beautiful to look at. Whether you choose to use a simple oriental rug, or whether you choose to go all out and decorate all of your walls, oriental designs can be used in a variety of ways.

There are a few different varieties of oriental designs and some are simple Japanese or Chinese letters of the alphabet. There is something about using a language which looks intriguing, that makes people’s homes inviting and peaceful. Each Chinese or Japanese word used in oriental designs usually means something significant such as ‘peace’ or ‘love’. The ideas behind the design are generally what encourage people to use them in their homes.

When you are out searching for an oriental design, ensure that you shop in the right places. There are quite a lot of shops claiming to sell authentic oriental designs, yet they turn out to be completely fake. So, if you are looking for something authentic it may be better to do your research first and ensure that the designs are truly what they say they are.

As well as main decorating such as on walls and on the floor, oriental designs can also add to the smallest of touches. Cushion covers, sofa throws and even dishes can be turned into oriental creations. It really depends on just how oriental you want to take your home. Do you just want to add a few little touches or do you want to go all out and decorate the whole house in an oriental theme? Whatever you want it is achievable and you can find design ideas on the internet and in local craft stores.

When it comes to a northern california vacation, you definitely have a lot to pick and choose from. Just hop online and see what I mean. I must admit that although I don’t love the California heat, I do enjoy seeing all they have to offer. If you are in the mood this season for a nice and relaxing northern california vacation, then I suggest you do something about it and quickly. The cool thing about California is that it has all the beach scenes, it has the Hollywood thing going on, it has the great nightlife, it has the amenities, but it also has the desert.

Experience The Long Beach, California

Long Beach, California will hold beautiful memories for many of us, my friends and myself included. Once you arrive at the place, get reminisced, refreshed, rested, and hit for the town. After a stint back at your air-conditioned apartment, where you can do henna tattoos and tarot readings, you can go for Italian food in a crowded but friendly (popular) local place called Ciravello’s Restaurant and Sports Bar. The most remarkable of Long Beach California experiences, though, happened at midnight. More on this in the next paragraph.

One piece of advice I have always listened to and passed on is to hang out with locals when you are touring, for you will get to experience the underbelly of the vacation spot, not just the touristy areas. Try to eat outside, not only so you can smoke but so you can pick up more of the outer ambience. You can lunch at a classic diner and shop along Pine Avenue, where curiosities and collectibles meet with contemporary and other arts and souvenirs. When night falls, if fate in your favor, you can strip down and go swimming in the Pacific. No one but you and your loved one will be frolicking and slip-sliding about in soft, smooth, sleek calm waters.

So for you who visit the playful town (or city, really, with a population of almost a half a million), the parks and playhouses and plazas might turn your crank. Or, the realization that major celebrities live or lived there might be the crowning moment in your Long Beach, California vacation. You might be thrilled to know, then, that Bobby Burgess and Bo Derek; the Doggs, Snoop and Nate; Spike Jones; Billie Jean King; and many, many other superstars have lived or do live there. And I am sure some even visit now and again. Maybe you will rub elbows with someone!

A couple of years back, my friends and I rented a sporty car from San Francisco, packed some art and writing supplies, and headed south along the coast toward Long Beach, California. We deliberately went without a map so we could serendipitously explore new areas and people and things to write about and photograph. In spite of all the amazing and stunning history, scenery, and activity we enjoyed along the way (the missions, the Orange County Fair, and more), our arrival in and visit at Long Beach was giftedly pleasing.

If you are in the mood for a nice northern california vacation, it’s now time to give a northern california vacation a shot. You can hop on a trolley in San Francisco and check out all the wonderful city has to offer. If you prefer the internet, All you need is your personal computer and Internet access to get started. Pop open that nifty Google search engine and go to town. Well, so to speak. Just punch in the key phrase “northern california vacation” and you’ll be flooded with great results. Due to the darn high priced to live there, you may want to do your research and prebook some low cost hotel or motel before heading for northern California.

If you are still wondering if you should have your next vacation in California, just think, on your California vacation, you won’t be too far from Vegas. This may mean you have to take another vacation immediately after. Can you really pass up on Vegas? So start planning today. With so much information that is readily available to you, it’s a synch to plan your next big trip from the privacy of your living room.

Oriental-influenced designs are very popular in the USA, allowing you to add a touch of style and elegance to your décor. Japanese, Korean and Chinese patterns can be used in many ways, while authentic oriental products are easy to find.

Designs inspired from the Orient are becoming very popular in the United States nowadays. The rich artistic tradition from the Far East is inspiring our manufacturers of quality consumer goods to incorporate oriental influence in their design. Expertly weaved oriental rugs are also gaining pride of place in many American homes where the intricacy of their patterns adorns floors and even walls, for a touch of Eastern authenticity.

The Chinese alphabet has inspired some of the most popular oriental patterns. This writing system is also called Kanji. It differs from our western alphabet is that each symbol represents a word or a concept rather than a letter. Known as ideograms, these symbols allow the Chinese speakers of various dialects to use a writing system that is understandable by all. The Kanji symbols are used in both Japan and China. They are intricate and graceful, which explains why they would be so widely used in eastern-inspired designs. Their influence is particularly true of with regards to tattoos. As most American tattoo artists are not, however, fluent Chinese or Japanese speakers, one should always exercise caution before getting a Kanji tattoo. You should always ensure that the chosen design actually means what the shop catalog describes it as.

Eastern patterns are also commonly used in many crafts such as embroidery. They can spice up a project by giving it an exotic refinement and decorative features that are not available with western-inspired designs. You can find such oriental inspiration on dishes, furniture, and many other home products and surfaces. Wallpaper decorated with oriental designs can give a living room an instant lift that will astonish you by its sophistication. Amongst my favorite Asian products, I particularly love the softness and warmth of the heavy Korean blankets, which are covered in stunning nature-inspired designs such as animals and plants.

If you are, however, after authentic looking oriental products, the best way is to purchase products that actually come from the Far East. I find it relatively easy to source all sorts of beautifully decorated household products as I live in San Francisco, where there is a large Asian community. Unfortunately this may not be the case in the area where you live and authentic oriental products may be harder to come by. This said, and as we do import a lot of goods from Asian countries, you should be able to locate eastern-influenced designs without too much difficulty.

Chicago, Illinois is the largest city in the state of Illinois and the third most populous city in the United States. The Chicago metropolitan area has a population of over 9.4 million in Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana, making it also the third largest metropolitan area in the US. Chicago is located along the shore of Lake Michigan.
Midway International and O’Hare International Airport service the Chicago area. In 2005, O’Hare was reported as the world’s busiest airport by aircraft movements and second busiest by total passenger traffic. Gary/ Chicago International Airport, located in Gary, Indiana, serves and the third Chicago area airport. Chicago/Rockford International Airport is a regional base for United Parcel Service flights, some passenger flight and occasionally as a relief to O’Hare. Chicago is also the world headquarters for United Airlines, the world’s second-largest airline.

First If your are thinking of expressing your self with a tattoo, don’t do anything stupid. Always have your tattoos done by approved tattoo artists. Before you choose an artist, look at some of his prior work.

Make sure you see your artist open the new needles before he begins work on your tattoo. You’ll have to see a doctor if you get an infection and you may have a unsightly scar instead of body art.

If you want the look without pain, you may use temporary tats that are applied to the skin, not under it. These will wash off in a week or 2. If you live near an Indian neighborhood ( Asian not native ) you could be capable of finding a henna artist.

While the needles don’t go really deep, they can hurt, particularly in delicate areas like the interior of the arm. Areas with less nerves, like the higher back hurt less, but it is’s still likely to be uncomfortable.

Picking out the art you need is one of the best things about getting a tat. You can select from offerings you artist shows you, or you can surf the web for new concepts. He will work from your print out and if he likes the design, your tattoo could join his display. If you do not see anything you like, ask your artist about a custom tattoo. He can make a drawing of the design and show it to you before you make your last decision.

Folks who work in retail sales, food service or in an office environment, should probably select a location that’s’s routinely covered by their work clothes.

Ask your artist about how long the tattoo will take. Small tats can usually be completed in one appointment. It has to be kept clean and dry.

Like any artist, an approved tattoo artist takes pride in his work and he wants you to be cheerful. He also does not need you to suffer any complications. He may ask if you have allergic reactions and before setting you up for the tattoo, he may do a patch test on your skin. Some folks might be allergic to the ink.

If you are dead set on getting some ink, select designs that you may like ten years from now. Don’t window shop for the lowest price. This isn’t the time to be bargain hunting. Tattoo removal needs to be done by a doctor with a laser and its really pricey. So choose fastidiously, your design and your artist will have a part in your future.

Madrid is the best city in Spain to go shopping, but, you’ll need to know where to look.

The most known shopping street in madrid is Gran Via & Sol, where most of the biggest brands have their biggest stores in this area. Most prominent such as Zara, Mango, H&M to mention but a few are all here.

Vintage Finds

If you’re sick of walking down the street and recognizing everyone’s clothes as the latest H&M or Zara fashions, try seeking out some of Madrid’s funkier alternative shops. From vintage duds to resewn, these clothes and accessories will be sure to get you noticed, and not for because you’re wearing the same thing as the person behind you. Head to Malasaña for truly unique designs: Templo de Susu (c/Espiritu Santo, 1) is small but boats cool coats and jackets for guys as well as jeans and skirts for women. Prices are in the €15-100 range. Across the street is Retro City (c/ Corredera Alta de San Pablo, 4) which has a great selection of old t-shirts and Adidas apparel as well as great 80s-style dresses and cowboy boots. Or you can head to Lotta Vintage (C/ de Hernán Cortés 9) exclusively for women. Don’t miss their great range of hats, and be sure to check out the sale rack tucked away at the back.

If wearing someone’s old clothes isn’t your thing, try amazing handmade and original finds. Head to Corredera Alta de San Pablo to Naufrago and La Bonita, where there are some thrifty picks for clothing and accessories. Naufrago has everything from t-shirts and sweatshirts to skirts, jeans and wallets. If you’re willing to go for something a bit pricier, check out Lost People (c/Santa Bárbara, 6). Here you’ll find designs unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Spot something you like that’s not available in your size, and they’ll stitch it together for you on the spot.

Music-lover’s paradise

It’s not really a surprise that the area around the Teatro Real, Madrid’s opera house, is a very musical neighbourhood. Just north of the opera you’ll find secondhand and collectors’ record shops, while those to the south are the places to find musical instruments. El Flamenco Vive (C/ del Conde de Lemos 7) also known as El Tato is your first and last stop to get fitted in the art of flamenco. Along with guitars and drums, they stock dresses and shoes, all handmade and made-to-measure. Their own publishing house and record company are responsible for some of the many CDs, DVDs and books on sale in the shop. Alberto Martínez and his brother David have been running the business for 15 years. Their customers range from young tourists who leave with a few postcards, to flamenco professionals such as Tomatito, Paco de Lucía and Enrique Morente, who buy their gear from them. Don’t be intimidated; everyone is welcome – their only desire is to spread the culture of flamenco.

Mercado de Fuencarral

One of the main veins of the city that links north to south is calle Fuencarral, also known as the main setting for La Movida, the youth movement in the years after Franco’s death. It’s a shopper’s Mecca, with a combination of chain stores and boutiques. But the jewel of the street lies right in the middle, near metro Tribunal. El Mercado de Fuencarral is three floors of local vendors and artists with everything from handbags to shirts to tattoos and haircuts on offer. It’s a great place to scour the racks to find that one-of-a-kind concert tee or button as well as hand-painted Converse and Vans. Some of the stuff is way out there, but the selection is incredible and the sales during the summer and winter are hard to beat. Make sure to pick up some flyers near the door of all the latest concerts, underground clubs and special dance nights.

Shopping in Madrid can also be enjoyed by visiting small, specialized stores, and busy food markets. If you prefer the boutiques and specialty shops to department stores and supermarkets, then visit the different zones and take the time to explore the huge array of shops at your disposal. Our madrid shopping guide will point you in the right direction!

As tattoos become more popular these days, more and more people are getting tattoos or talking about getting one. This is great for the industry and even better for those who would like to get involved in the tattoo industry. But don’t think that becoming a professional tattoo artist is easy. There really isn’t any such thing as easy money by becoming a tattoo artist.

Many tattoo artist aspirants believe that purchasing a D.I.Y. tattoo kit from the advertisements of tattoo magazines is the starting point towards becoming a successful tattoo artist. Be aware that this equipment is of inferior quality and lacks precision. What next? Find a person to practice. And the result is dozens and dozens of people with awful tattoos and terrible scars and who will put you in their hate list forever. Furthermore, a true artist will be reluctant to take you under his wings because he is going to have a headache trying to guide you back on the right path.

The alternative is to pay a fee to a tattoo artist or shop to teach you the trade. So what is the type of fee to pay? As far as I know there are no reputable artists teaching you all he know for a fee. A true artist is not a true blooded businessman. If an artist is willing to teach you for a small fee, then consider this. Is he willing to part with all he knows for what you are paying? In one Asian country, the majority of tattoo shop websites advertise tattoo courses for a very small fee. But the problem is that after completing the course, you will have to come back for one refresher course then another and another. And I understand that after completion several such courses, you will not be able to tattoo properly. So the chances are you will be paying good money to some businessman who is just trying to make a fast buck.

So then, how to become a successful tattoo artist? For starters, you’ll need talent. You will never make it in the tattoo industry by tracing or stenciling, you will need to be able to draw great designs. To even get considered as a tattoo artist, a portfolio is needed. This will require you to draw lots of great designs to build up a portfolio. Your portfolio is proof that you have the skills that are needed to succeed in the industry. Without a portfolio, don’t even bother. I remember one South American guy asking me to train him to become a tattoo artist. And he said money is no problem. I told him that money is not an issue, just draw me a colored dragon and then a reaper. He came back after one week, and said he couldn’t draw a proper dragon or reaper. So end of story.

Once you have a portfolio to showcase your talents, you will need a mentor, someone who is willing to teach you the trade and share their secrets with you. Now this is the tricky thing, tattoo artists don’t like giving away their secrets. Simple reason is because many of them have been let down by their apprentices. Just take the case of my mentor. He has taken more than 20 people under his wings (all without any fee), but today only 3 of his graduates still “recognise” him as mentor. What happened to the rest? They have their own shops, but tell their customers that they can do the same quality of work as their mentor (also my mentor), but their prices are cheaper. So you know how much it hurts to be treated like my mentor? If you do find someone good, a real professional who is willing to tell you anything at all about the industry, then be grateful.

To train as a tattoo artist, you will need proper, high-quality equipment such as a precision tattoo machine, power supplies, shading equipment, needles, medical equipment and sanitation supplies. You will also need to know about cleanliness and what can and can’t be reused, as well as how to clean and sterilize your equipment. The popular professional tattoo artists are successful for a number of reasons, but mainly because they are clean and very talented.

You can succeed in the tattoo industry, but you will need to be talented, self-driven and dedicated. If you want to make lots of money as a tattoo artist, you are wasting your time. Become a tattoo artist because you love the art and love to create breath-taking pieces of body art. Be prepared to work for free and, most of all, if you get someone to stop and share a secret or two with you, take their advice. You will definitely need it.

What you do is you apprentice and work for a tattoo artist for very little pay. You do this so that he/she can take you under his/her wing and show you how to take your artistic skill and transfer it to the art that is called tattooing. If the master you’re apprenticing for is good, then along the way you’ll also learn about how to run a shop, what it takes to succeed, and what NOT to do…

How long does it take? Well…that depends on how fast you pick it up and how good your master is. It’s not uncommon for tattoo artists to apprentice for more than one artist in their careers…and each apprenticeship can last for several years.

This is not to discourage you…but the guys on Miami Ink didn’t just “decide” to become rock star tattoo artists one day. They scraped just to get by for many years before they became successful…and, chances are, you’ll have to, too.

When you have decided that you really want a tattoo and you know of a tattoo artist you might use then the next step is choosing on a tattoo design you like. From this time on is where the hard work starts. Looking for the tattoo shop is the easy part but deciding on what tattoo you want will take work. There are so many different kinds of tattoos to choose from it makes it pretty hard to find which tattoo design will be best.

It is a lot of fun searching through many different tattoos. The look of tattoo that you decide to go with will be your own personal preference but there are many different tattoos that are common more than others. For instance, a celtic cross tattoo is much more popular with a male than a red rose tattoo that is very popular with females.

Choosing colors for a tattoo design vary and all depend on what you like. Butterfly tattoo designs don’t necessarily have to be colorful, but can also be purple or brown as there are many different meanings with colors. Styles of the tattoo designs will change also depending on the type of body art.

A skull tattoo will tend to be in larger format with bold dark colors, while a dragon tattoo design will have many pieces and dark colors. A rose tattoo can be any different colors, shape and size.

Choosing a place on your body is part of the entire process. Your tattoo can be put anywhere on your body and some people will go overboard and place a tattoo in odd places such as; the top of the head, under the neck, on fingers, feet and many other places you can think of. What is popular for women might not be as popular for men, such as women love to have tattoos placed on the lower back, upper back or on the ankle, while men tend to have tattoos placed on the upper arm, shoulder or back. It is about style and person preference that matters. You can not go wrong with placing your tattoo, it doesn’t matter where you put it.

As you can see, the choice of tattoos are endless and finding the right tattoo for you may seem like a huge task but of course there are resources that you can use to look for your tattoo.

The internet can be a great place to start your research as there are websites related to tattoos all over the place. There are many galleries and pictures that you can look through to get a better idea of what tattoos are available. Most sites will try to sell you templates of designs, which might be of good to take to your tattoo artist.

If its too hard to find a unique tattoo on the Internet, you can always go to your tattoo artist and ask for a sketch of a tattoo that you may be thinking about. Having your tattoo artist do this will cost more but may be worth it in the long run since when a tattoo is put on it will cost much more to have it removed. Be sure to spend a lot of time looking for your tattoo and search through as many different designs as possible as it will help you make a decision.

5 friends come together to start a new lease of life by opening up their own tattoo shop in Miami Beach, Florida. Ami James and Chris Nunez plan to start a tattoo shop at a place called LoveHate lounge co-owned by them. So, they come along together with some of their old and skilled tattoo artist friends, Chris Garver, Darren Brass and Yoji Harada, to open up a parlor- Miami Ink.

Miami Ink is a show aired on TLC which portrays the happenings at this shop. It’s a great TV series that shows many interesting people walking in to get their tattoos done and the show has also succeeded in capturing the feelings of the customers and the process of the artist in a great way. Season 1 started with a grand opening party in the first episode where the shop is set up and the first customer gets a tattoo of the Hawaiian Islands. Slowly as the episodes go by, it becomes prominent that business picks up and their friend Yoji gets married to his fiancée Bridgette. Season 1 ended with Ami injuring himself.

Season 2 begins with Ami buying his dream car and later Yoji getting the pressure as Ami threatens to release him from apprenticeship, if he doesn’t improve his drawing skills. After several interesting episodes where Kat Von D returns and helps out while Ami is out, the season ended with Darren inking a musician while Ami gives a tattoo to a girl helping in memorializing her father. In season 3 Kat leaves ‘Miami Ink’ and ventures out having an ambition to set up her own shop. Season 4 was all about Kat coming back on a surprise visit and once again tensions growing between Ami and Kat.

After completing 4 full seasons, 5th season was back with Ami and Nunez traveling to Las Vegas while well known tattoo artist Joe Capobianco fills the place of guest artist in the shop. Season 5 ended with Ami and Nunez being judges at a bikini contest and a new customer, Joni getting a tattoo of her own piece of art onto her back.

Missed any of the previous episodes? Are you a tattoo enthusiast? Then you still can catch up with the previous TV episodes online or can download TV shows from the net.

Who doesn’t know what a lower back tattoo design looks like today? The myspace crowd is downright rabid for the latest tribal art or logo in this area. Tribal tattoos or some other well liked lower back designs include celtic, butterfly, flower, and dragon tattoos. Feel free to create your own hybrid tattoo design by combining two of the types mentioned as well.

Lower Back Tattoo Placement is Part of the Fun

You can share your lower back tattoo with others by wearing low-cut jeans or a midriff baring top. This tattoos very location is meant to be seen by others. It’s narrow minded to only think of the sexual motivations for this tattoo. Lower back tattoos are symbolic and meaningful to their owner.

Usually placed over the kidneys or just above the buttocks crease lower back tattoo designs accent the female form. You can kept this tattoo hidden while at work and show it off nights and weekends wherever you may go. Whomever gets to see your tattoo artwork is truly blessed.

How To Save Time Preparing for Your Lower Back Tattoo Design

When getting a lower back tattoo prepare to lay on your stomach for at least 1 hour. Some say that it is best to get your ink while stretched out sitting backwards in a chair though. It is also required that you prepare a clean hairless surface for your tattoo artist to work with. Remember to dress appropriately to give your tattoo artist room to work on your lower back area. Afterwards wear loose waist pants for a few days to allow your new tattoo to heal properly and not disturb the art.

Please be aware that almost a quarter of people who get tattoos regret their decision after being inked. Take your time and think about what you are going to do. Find several pictures of what you want on your back before you go in to the tattoo shop. It can cost up to ten times what you paid for a tattoo to have one removed later.

Celebrity Lower Back Tattoo Designs

Lower back tattoos and celebrities go hand in hand it seems. Avril Lavigne once had a temporary tattoo placed at the top of her butt area for an MTV music awards ceremony performance. Adult film star Jill Kelly has a nice tribal piece on her lower back. Singer and actress Mariah Carey was recently seen sporting a butterfly on her lower back. Actress Charisma Carpenter has tribal sun design on her lower back. Lisa Sparxxx, adult film star, has a large lower back tattoo of a star and flames around it.

When you are ready to get your lower back tattoo done, do it right. Do your research and get a unique design that you will be happy with for years to come. You don’t need to be a celebrity to get more attention, just accent your natural beauty with a hot tattoo!
